new blog?

Well, I finally maxed out photos on the blog.  They are stored in Picasa web albums----and I am not going to pay to store images online.  So....I might create a new blog.  I'm still figuring out my options....but until I figure it out, I guess I will stop blogging for a bit.  I will be sure to post a new blog address here if I end up making a new one.  Keep up w/me on facebook.  :)

Ella's birthday party---

Today was her 'friend' party.  Although, we already had a little party for her, we decided to do one more party with some of our close friends.  Instead of presents, we asked for a donation to the local animal shelter--and gave everyone a list of items needed at the shelter.
We had a photo scavenger hunt, here are some pics from that-

and a few more pics from the party:

Wow---it was a fun day.  I cannot wait to take the goodies to the animal shelter.  The girls are hoping that I'll cave into adopting an animal.  Haha.  Silly girls.

Home is a Roof Over a Pig...

My friend Aminta wrote this book!!  We were good friends with Aminta back in Japan (before they moved to China)--her children are close in age to mine (Kathryn, Andrew & Grace), so we got to know this family through many playdates.  The book just came out.  Aminta is such a great writer---I cannot wait to read it.  If you are looking for something to read, get this!! http://www.amazon.com/dp/1590208994/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dp_mIz9pb1ZMFSKJ

thinking ahead...

Halloween and Christmas are  HUGE here.  I'm already starting to think about Halloween, and thankfully Pintrest has SO many ideas.  Pumpkins rot so quickly in Guam, we decided not to even do them last year.  But this year, I think we will do pumpkins this way:  (I think I might fill them with rocks, so they don't blow away.)

new friends....

It is just a very random thing that we even found out about these people.  Let's see....it goes back to when we lived in Texas.  Ella had to get glasses when she was three, and since then we have always purchased our glasses from this great place in Southlake that sells children's designer eyewear; our favorite person there is Melody.  Before moving to Guam, we  visited friends in Texas, and we ordered new glasses for Ella since she had outgrown her favorite swissflex glasses.  Melody said, "Hey, I know someone moving to Guam very soon, would it be okay if I gave her your contact information?"  I said sure.  So I became friends with Aimee on facebook and we talked on the phone a few times before she moved to Guam on April.  She's at the Navy base---about an hour south of us.  So---we finally met Aimee and her girls in person yesterday.  :)  We had a wonderful time, and will meet up again very soon.

another day at the tide pools...

I can't get enough of this place---when we go here, I seriously don't understand why more people don't come out here.  Everyone on base seems to stay inside most of the time.  Maybe I'm the strange one---when we come here, things at home do fall behind---dishes, laundry, cleaning.  But if I didn't make the beach a priority, I know I would regret it later.  I LOVE it here....and we've only got ONE year left on Guam.  A year goes by so fast....we are certainly going to make the most of it.  I'm pretty sure I won't look back and say, 'Man, I wish I cleaned my house more.'  I'm so happy that my girls truly enjoy this beautiful place too----they spend hours here exploring....and never get tired of it.  :)
