One of my very dear friends, Leslie is here visiting from Texas, and her mom, Janice, from Oklahoma. I've known Leslie since 1st grade. I never want them to leave, we are having such a wonderful time....
Today I was slightly more prepared on what to bring; I had been looking for a good excuse to use our big sport umbrella we got at Costco several months ago. It worked perfect. The first pic is Kate doing breaststroke-50m, the rest are pics of her doing butterfly-50m. She did a great job. I'm so proud of her. This was her first meet not to get disqualified on breaststroke. The refs are so picky on form, and it's so common for the kids to get DQ'd on that, but Kate finally did it. I'm so glad. She is so happy and relaxed at the meets, we should probably sign up for more. I love the sport of swimming for the kids. It's great to be on a team, but more importantly the kids are really just competing against themselves--trying to better their times. Kate has never worried about placing, which I'm so glad...especially since she rarely does, but now she is starting to really pay attention to her times, and is so pleased w/herself when she beats her last time. :)
Kate and Gracie playing Kate's DS while waiting for Kate's events: Kate checking out the heat sheet: After the meet, going home: We will wake up and do it all again tomorrow. It's hard when it's just me with all 3 girls---but I still LOVE the meets. We lucked out with gorgeous weather for this outdoor meet.
A couple of pics of the girls playing in the water when we got home:
And I found a bunch of Harry Potter books at the thrift store, $1 each. Kate was excited. Kate and Ella have to read to watch T.V.--it's working out great. One minute reading = One minute of T.V.
