Gracie reading (pics)

You can hear her saying, "..night night, zoo." & snoring sounds for when the animals are asleep.

Tracy's daughter Amy did a wonderful job on her art lesson today. We had fun blowing trees with straws...and then adding leaves.

Book club

I attended a neighborhood book club meeting last night, where we discussed Water for Elephants. It was SO much fun...a really great group of ladies. This was the 2nd meeting, I missed the first. And I'm sad to be moving in a few short months. This is my first book club experience, and I think if I can't find a book club in Guam, I'll be starting one. :) The next book is:

Saturday morning pics (gosh, it feels like Sunday!), love Gracie's little feet on the warm air vent.

And as I was taking these, I was telling her "NO! Please don't feed Cupid." My toddler is partially to blame for our obese dachshunds.

TGIF (another snow day)

Woke up this morning to find out that school was cancelled. Not a huge surprise, I had a hunch...especially after about 5 p.m.- it had started snowing again, and by the time it was dark our driveway was a skating rink (even after I had shoveled it.)
Here is Gracie watching from the playroom upstairs:
Today was sunny, and luckily the roads were clear enough for me to take Kate to the Dr. at 2:15. She was diagnosed with a sinus infection...as I predicted. So after getting a prescription for an antibiotic, we headed over to the piano teacher's house...we were only about 20 minutes late, but it worked out fine with each of them just having a short 20 minute lesson (instead of 30). So then off to Walgreens, and now we are home. Not the easiest day ever, but everything fell into place. I realized I had not taken any photos today, so I ran to take a pic of the girls just before hopping on to blog.
(they are eating a few chips and chocolate---totally out of the ordinary---it's just been one of those kind of days.)

more snow...

I got the automated call from the school district saying that school would start 2 hours late. Well, it started snowing--REALLY SNOWING about that time, and didn't let up. So around 8:15, I got another automated call saying that school was cancelled for today. So it's been a nice snow day, the roads are now just wet, but we aren't going anywhere. Kate has a sinus infection, I think she's on day 3 or 4 of it, but today it has zapped her energy. So tomorrow will be interesting. I'll be in Ella's class in the morning, and then a Dr. appt. for Kate in the afternoon--I just called their piano teacher to let her know that I don't know if we'll be making it to piano. And if the roads freeze over, we might not be going anywhere.

Purple snow fort (water bottle w/food coloring--works great!):

the kindness of a friend....

I have a friend on facebook from junior high and high school. We never really ran around in the same circles, but had classes together from time to time. I have always enjoyed chatting with her, and love seeing her darling family of 6 on facebook. We made the connection a few years ago that her hubby is an officer in the Air Force, and mine in the Army. Anyways, when I went to the mailbox today, I had this box from her.
Neatly decorated sugar cookies for the girls, and a bracelet for me...it has a pic of each of my girls on there. I LOVE IT. It was perfect. And you know when someone does something kind like this out of the blue, it just makes you want to pay it forward. *Thank you, Becky* Becky has been there, done that....& gets the whole deployment thing very well.

And just throwing on a couple more pics of Gracie on here. For the next 2 weeks, I'll be keeping up with the blog still---and then I'll be taking a blogging break. (& return again when Scott is home.)

In the mornings, Gracie LOVES to play in Ella's room, on her bed. For some reason, Ella does not like sleeping in her loft bed anymore. So I ended up putting the mattress on the floor which she likes much better. Not sure what we will do about that in Guam. Debating if we should sell her cool loft bed. I might hang onto it for Gracie.

...and Gracie being onery, playing with the buttons & magnets on the fridge:
Cupid is down there barking at her to stop.

more Sunday pics:

See, Scott?? A clean butler's pantry!! I love this part of our house, but normally I let it get cluttered. Now that I have it de-cluttered, I love it even more. :) Too bad we are moving in a few short months. To sell or rent?, that is the question.

The girls are watching old Brady Bunch episodes and eating popcorn. No school tomorrow, yay!

And a few more from earlier:
